Frequently asked questions

What is WhichIsRealDaily?

A daily visual-deduction game: each round shows two photos side by side, one real and one AI-generated, and you tap the one you think is real. Six rounds a day, a fresh set of photos every time.

How does scoring work?

You get a point for every round where you correctly pick the real photo. Your score resets each time you reload or start a new day's challenge — there's no account, so nothing carries over between sessions.

Where do the real photos come from?

From royalty-free stock photography (mostly Unsplash). Where a photographer is credited by the source, that credit is preserved in the image data.

How are the AI images made?

With a current-generation image model, swapped out periodically as sharper ones become available — that's the whole point of the game: the gap between real and AI keeps closing, so today's round is never quite as easy as last month's.

Do I need to sign up to play?

No. There's no account, no login, and no password. If you want a daily reminder to come play, you can leave your email in the newsletter box, but it's entirely optional.

Can I play a day I missed?

Yes — every past challenge stays playable in the archive.

Are there other ways to play besides the daily challenge?

Two: Practice mode lets you drill a single category (Animals, Hands, Portraits, etc.) pulled from every past challenge, no score attached. Quote Match swaps photos for quotes — one real historical line, one AI-written impostor, five rounds.

What happens with my data?

Very little. Game progress lives only in your browser's memory and disappears on reload. The full breakdown, including how advertising will work once it's live, is in the privacy policy.

Why do I see ads or a short video partway through?

They're what keeps the game free to play. We've tried to keep them out of the way of the actual puzzle — if one is ever genuinely getting in your way, let us know.

I found a bug, or have an idea for the game. Who do I tell?

Email hello@whichisrealdaily.com — bug reports and feedback both welcome.
